Chamomile Essential Oil is steam distilled from the flowers and stalks of Matricaria chamomilla L. (syn. Chamomilla recutita). Although not indigenous to Nepal, chamomile has adapted well to the country’s southern Terai plains and mid-hill regions, where it is cultivated using traditional agricultural practices without chemical fertilizers or pesticides.

Botanical Origin & Regional Background

Known locally in Nepal as Damini Ful, chamomile is widely recognized for its long-established use in European herbal and aromatic traditions. In Nepal, it has gained recognition among Himalayan practitioners for its gentle and calming aromatic qualities.

The plant produces small daisy-like flowers, which are valued for their aromatic compounds and deep blue essential oil color, naturally occurring due to the presence of azulene.

Extraction Method
